I know this house and area as well as I know my own home. Having been a paying guest for a month, I certainly can vouch for the comforts and accommodation.. It is truly a beautiful area and one should not miss the morning rainbows and the waterfalls on the nearby mountains.. Also one should take a minute to get up early, go outside and just smell the beauty of the air and hear the pounding surf.. A truly great place.. John Filson

We’ve stayed here three times and we’re planning to go back. The home is on a quiet cul de sac with a yard and huge lawn in the park area, it was great for the kids with all the outdoor area. The house is very comfortable with a fully stocked kitchen, linens, cd & dvd’s, games, puzzles, and an assortment of beach supplies(chairs, masks, snorkels, etc). This is so much better than a hotel because we can pull into the garage and we’re home! This in a quiet area of Princeville away from the main roads. It’s close to the beautiful beaches in North Shore. We’re looking forward to staying there again.
Hi Tod, glad you enjoyed our house. We are always adding things and updating the house so when you return you will find some new things, we just added 2 mountain bikes! Princeville is a spectacular place to stay with easy access to so many of the North Shore beaches, the Napali Coast and Hanalei Bay. We always look forward to having our guests return for a visit, thanks for the great review! Liz

Traveling with 3 girlfriends, this home was the perfect get away for us! We had a tremendous amount of space to interact or be by ourselves with the spacious living area, 3 beautifully appointed bedrooms and two full baths! The addition of two patios made it even more appealing! The fabulous kitchen was perfect for two of us who love to cook – we were able to create great meals with our friends sitting at the counter chatting and drinking wine while we cooked! Wonderful neighborhood, quiet and close to everything – the beach, shops, grocery store and golf courses and of course luau’s and zip lining and so much more!!
Thanks for the review, it is so nice to hear others enjoy the house and area as much as we do! Mahalo!

We couldn’t enjoy the oudoors very much because it rained most of the time, but the place made up for the terrible weather . I absolutely recommend it!

My husband and I spent a week on Kauai in this great house. The location was perfect in Princeville. It had easy and quick access to the North beaches. I think that this is the best location on Kauai. The North shore is the best! There are wonderful golf courses and restaurants nearby. The Princeville Makai course with spectacular views of the ocean and the mountains was one of our favorites. We ate at the Dolphin in Hanalei Bay which had great sushi and seafood, we also enjoyed Neides.
There are great shops and restaurants right in Princeville. Hanalei Bay is beautiful and great for swimming, boarding and kayaking. The town has many shops and restaurants in a laid back and quaint setting. The sunsets were unmatched… even by those in Poipu, another favorite of ours. The house is beautiful… large, well maintained and well appointed. It is decorated beautifully. It has everything you will need and more to enjoy the beaches, cooking at home, watching TV, catching up on email with wireless. The outside shower was a pleasant surprise.
Dinner out on the lanai was a nice change from restaurants. The cul-de-sac was quiet with nice neighbors. More relaxing than resorts, hotels and condos. A wonderful find and one we will return to.
Thanks for taking the time to post a review! It is always nice to hear that our guests find Kauai as wonderful as we do! We love welcoming our guests back to our home, so keep us in mind for your next visit to Kauai….Liz

The owners keep a multitude of guidebooks available for guests so if you stay here, you do not need to bring your own….less weight in your suitcase. The owners are also very accomodating and helpful in advising activities. The 4 of us enjoyed ourselves immensely and highly recommend this beautiful home. Many thanks!

You’re minutes from the best beach in Kauai. There’s a shopping center around the corner with a grocery store and fantastic ice cream. You’re within 10 minutes from a number of delicious restaurants. Princeville adventure park is around the corner for ziplining, kayaking, and hiking. Only negatives (which aren’t necessarily negatives for others) are no A/C (ceiling fans did the job but it was a little stuffy) and somewhat unreliable internet (which Liz was very timely in addressing). It was clean, quiet, cozy, close to anything you could need with everything needed for a comfortable stay (high chair, crib, towels, beach toys, outdoor shower and SUPER comfortable beds!) We would DEFINITELY go back. Thanks, Liz!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on this quiet & lovely cul-de-sac street set in a tranquil but accessible neighborhood with all the amenities anyone could want for a home away from home. It was one of the best stocked kitchens we were fortunate to enjoy & with two adult children accompanying us on their first trip to Kuaui made it especially nice to have the 3 spacious bedrooms & large living room for watching TV & surfing the net via Wifi in the evenings after a full day of activity at all the local attractions.
It was great to have all the sports equipment also available to use for snorkeling & biking to the local grocery. Everything was super convenient & easy to find & the small appliances as well as large ones (washer, dryer, dishwasher) actually worked! It is very obvious throughout the house with all the charming touches that the owners took extra care to consider things for the comfort of their guests which was such a nice feeling to know that we were truly welcomed in their home.
Our hosts were more than gracious & also left us good suggestions on how to get to the nearby beaches and eateries even though we were more than happy to just sit & relax under the many ceiling fans which kept the rooms very comfortable even without air conditioning! That was our only concern but turned out not to be an issue & the house has solar hot water heaters which was also fine ~
We would highly recommend this to any family of 4 or dual couples, although there is a loft area upstairs, we didn’t use it as it was noticeably warmer upstairs than the rest of the house. Two bedrooms share one bath but the master suite is wonderfully large with separate walk-in shower. It was unfortunate that our stay was only limited to 3 days so most definitely be going back for a longer visit as soon as we can get back to this lovely island & charming comfortable vacation home!
Mahalo for the compliments on our Kauai Home, we try to make the house as comfortable as possible so that our guests have a relaxing time on the North Shore. We love Kauai and are very lucky to share it with all our guests, it is always nice to know that our efforts are appreciated! The two older ladies I traveled with are total neat freaks. This home pleased them to no end. It was tidy, spacious and comfortable, and located in a nice community. We enjoyed shopping at the local Foodmart, where we bought some groceries and some ready-made meals. We ate dinner at home every night and enjoyed sitting and talking about our day’s adventures. One of us went on a trail ride and zipline at the nearby Princeville Ranch. She was the only grandma out there that day and they treated her like a queen.
We didn’t try walking to the beach, but we did drive through the neighborhoods. They are lovely. There were lots of people using the jogging trails and out walking their dogs or pushing baby strollers, this is a great place for families. The property was everything described and more. Some places claim to sleep 7, this one actually has enough beds to do that, and the beds are comfortable. I am recommending this place to friends and relatives, but I mostly want to go back myself, sit out on the patio, listen to the birds, and smell the flowers.
I am thrilled you enjoyed your stay at our home! We too think Princeville is a wonderful community with alot to offer our guests. The walking trails are especially nice for evening walks and sunsets over the golf course. Staying at a house makes it really nice to have a place to make meals and just relax and enjoy the views! I haven’t tried the zipline adventure yet but have had a number of guests say they really liked it, I will have to put it on my bucket list! Thanks for picking our place out of so many, we hope you keep us in mind when you return! Liz

Our family of four could not be more pleased with our decision to stay at this property. The house, the yard, the neighborhood, all exactly what we were looking for and all perfectly described in the listing description. We enjoyed so many of the extra items provided by the owners and were especially glad to have instructions to Sea Lodge beach which quickly turned into our Island favorite. Our family spent hours watching the sea turtle swim there, we snorkeled and enjoyed the relative solitude. We renamed the beach “Bird Seed” because the sand there was larger and much easier to brush off than many of the beaches we visited.
So grateful to the people in the neighborhood who were welcoming and full of information useful to our stay on Kauai. As we walked around the neighborhood we met several people who offered information, showed us baby albatross, shared ideas about how to spend our time, and even invited us to stand with them under an eave during a rain shower.
The house is lovely as well as more affordable and accommodating than any other place we looked at. It is filled with wonderful extras. We longed for nothing during our stay. The Customer Service was wonderful and we feel that we have new friends in the owners. We recommend this house to any travelers who are looking for a quality experience in a quiet neighborhood.

The house stayed cool with the many ceiling fans and the excellent window ventilation. All in all a wonderful vacation. Only one small quibble: The “walk to beach” feature, while true, is a little deceptive. The actual hike is pretty challenging and the beach is not much compared to others in the area. Very rocky sand and not a lot of space. We preferred driving to other beaches in the area, of which there were plenty.

The two weeks we spent at this lovely, spacious family home were memorable in so many wonderful ways. It’s everything promised by the photos, the description, the reviews, and then some – a superbly equipped kitchen, comfortable furnishings, spotlessly clean, an abundance of beach gear, loads of books to enjoy including really helpful and current guides to the island, friendly and helpful neighbors… the list goes on and on.
Out back is a large open park where our two girls enjoyed running and kicking a soccer ball, and grabbing a few mangoes from the tree on the other side. Then there were the wild jungle fowl, and the noisy red-headed cardinals, nirvana for the young bird-nut in our family. While it’s not within sight of the ocean, there are amazing secluded beaches within easy (if steep!) walking or jogging distance, and you are a short and lovely drive from all else further along the North Shore, in Hanalei and beyond. We explored it all!
Princeville is a lovely verdant and upscale neighborhood with all amenities close by, and great walking, biking or jogging if that’s your thing. But it was some of the other simpler touches that really made it for us – lots of fresh towels, soap in all the bathrooms, plenty of basics in the kitchen, and a kind and easy-going owner who made us feel like old friends borrowing their home. The night a tropical storm was thought likely to cause some havoc on the island, Liz called just to make sure we knew where the candles were in case the power went out. Well, the storm passed us by with little more than a sprinkle of rain but that thoughtful gesture sealed the deal.
We cannot recommend this VRBO property enough. Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing your lovely home with us and we hope to return to relive the happiest of memories some day.

Princeville location is great (especially with a vehicle) with provides quick access to lots of sights, grocery, restaurants, etc. in the North, and easy drive down to the South of the island. For those with young children, it sounds like the child’s playground at Princeville is one of the few on the island and it was great for our 3.5 yr old. Liz was very responsive and accommodating and easy to work with. Would definitely recommend this house to others!
Aloha and Mahalo for the great review! Dave and I try to provide the most comfortable setting for the best vacation experience at our home! We know it is nice to have everything there and not have to rent all those extras for your vacation. Nice to know we are reaching our goal!

We loved this place. The decor and attention to detail was amazing. Everything we might have needed for fun on the island was in the garage, including beach chairs and bicycles. Liz, the owner was easy to work with and quick to respond to any questions. Definitely 5 stars.
Mahalo for the great review! It is nice to know that all of our hard work and attention to detail pays off for our guests! We just want to make every experience the best it can be! Liz and Dave

We spent a few days on the North shore of Kauai and overall had a wonderful time in this home. The house is big and beautiful and clean, and the little backyard is a delight with frequent visits from adorable exotic birds and lizards. Most importantly, the house has everything you could ever need to help you enjoy your vacation. There are many snorkel kits, boards, towels, bikes etc available for the guests as well as a broad and informative collection of guide books about the island. Perfect for those like us who didn’t really prepare their trip much!! We didn’t meet the owners but Liz provided helpful tips prior to our arrival and the next door neighbors were very friendly and welcoming.
The only downfall _ for us _ was that Princeville itself is really a resort town, with little character and the only restaurants/bars we could find were located within big hotel resorts, time shares or golf courses. Of course, this has nothing to do with the house itself, which is awesome, and this is something we would have known if we had done more research online prior to our trip. But I thought this info may benefit other last-minute vacation planners like ourselves! Again, overall, this house has all the convenience in the world and I highly recommend it.
Aloha Ann and thank you for the great review, we strive to make our guests comfortable and their vacation memorable. I’m sorry you were disappointed in the Princeville area, there are other restaurants in Hanalei and Kapaa but all the great beaches are here on the North shore! I have been meaning to write my recommendations for guests and I think now I will, please consider giving the North shore another try, you won’t regret it!! Liz and Dave

We spent a week in Kauai and found the house to be perfect for our family. It was well stocked with fun beach toys that really enhanced our stay ( the yellow boogie board will have a special place in our family history since our four year old fell in love with boogie boarding on it 🙂 . The kitchen had everything you could want and more and the overall feel of the place was warm and welcoming . Liz was super helpful and we can’t wait to come back!
Aloha and mahalo for the great review! Love to hear that our guests are enjoying the house as much as we do! Can’t wait to welcome you and your family back!! Liz and Dave

Staying in a quiet neighborhood in a beautifully decorated and well-appointed home worked out perfectly for our family of 2 young adults and 2 parents. We stayed for one week in late August and thoroughly enjoyed the island. We shopped local farmer’s markets and grocery stores, did most of our own cooking in the fully equipped kitchen then set up our dining on the patio. The garage full of snorkeling and beach supplies gave us an easy and successful time for our memorable adventures to Ke’e, Tunnels, Anini, and Poi’ pu beaches and we returned home to the fun and functional outdoor shower over and over. We also loved biking through the neighborhoods (just to explore or in search of the best sunset venue) using the available bicycles.

I had stayed at this lovely house before, with two of my elderly friends. It was so much fun to go back with a large family group. We filled all the beds, but never felt crowded. The couch was big enough for all of us to sit and watch a movie together. The younger members of our party (in their 20s) were able to walk to the beaches and to Queen’s Bath, and they enjoyed walking at night as well. We always felt safe.
The neighbors were friendly. Staying in a neighborhood is so much quieter and homey than a hotel. We also spent a lot of time in a van, just driving all over the island sightseeing. Princeville worked fine as a headquarters for our adventures. Most of our activities were do-it-yourself, the younger people were on a budget.
Everything they needed was at the house. One of our favorite things was breakfast at the Kountry Kitchen in Kapaa. Another favorite was Hanalei Gourmet (great place for lunch). We tried two of the restaurants in the shopping center in Princeville (good!) and it seems like we stopped at the ice cream shop there every day. But mostly we enjoyed shopping at the grocery store there and using the spacious, well stocked kitchen at the house to cook for ourselves. (Fresh pineapple and bacon for breakfast!!!)
Aloha Janice, It was great to have you back to our home! Have a wonderful Holiday, we hope to welcome you back again! Liz and Dave

Perfect house in paradise
I do at least 1-2 vacation rentals a year, usually going thru local prop company. This was my first HomeAway experience. Liz and Dave’s house was far and above the best rental I’ve stayed in. It didn’t live like a rental. Felt like we were in someone’s well kept and well equipped home. Tastefully furnished. Well equipped kitchen for home cooking. Plenty of linens. Lots of beach equipment and bikes. All stuff you would pay extra other spots. And Kauai north shore was awesome. We visited several local beaches on foot, a few on bikes, and two that were less than 15 min car ride. Cannot say enough about the property and the neighborhood. Oh, and the Christmas tree was gravy on top. Well done, folks. Thanks for an outstanding stay. Mahalo and mele kalikimaka.
Mele Kalikimaka and Happy New Year! Mahalo for the wonderful review, it is nice to know that we are reaching our goals of providing a fully equipped, comfortable home for our guests! I can’t believe we have been doing this for 10 years now and it still is so rewarding to know we have been a part of many happy, relaxing vacations. Thank you again, we would love to welcome you back sometime! Liz and Dave

Our stay in Kauai was the best ever. The house had everything we needed for the beach, no extra rentals to add to the budget, it was awesome! Our grandkids were with us for part of the time and we had beach toys, blankets, floaties and boogie boards for the beach. Our favorite beaches, Anini and Hanalei Bay beach were just a short drive away. In the evenings we rode the bikes that were at the house to see the baby albatross that nest in the neighborhood. It truly was a home away from home experience, Loved it and will return!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in this beautiful home. The location was great, particularly because some of us were hiking the Na Pali Coast. The restaurant of the family visited the nearby beaches using the available beach chairs, umbrellas, body boards, etc or played board games and put together puzzles in the home while we were camping on the Kalalau Beach. After our hike, the home served as a perfect base of operations to explore the entire island.
I initially thought that we would eat out a lot more, but we only ended up eating out for 2 meals due to the great kitchen in the home. We grilled salmon and steaks using the grill and baked all sorts of great dishes using spices already in the home (we only had to buy a couple spices and then left them for others to enjoy). There was an outdoor shower that everyone fought over after returning from the beach. What seemed like an endless supply of towels and a great washer and drier proved super convenient as well.
The neighbors were also very nice, but not overbearing. One gave us extra bananas they had just picked and another couple became quick friends with my parents, providing all sorts of tips on things to see and do on the island. My kids LOVED the bike with an extension for another person to ride (essentially a 2-seat bike). We would wake up early and ride it to some of the nearby beaches and even to the grocery store once. Overall – a fantastic place to stay on one of the most beautiful places in the world. Will definitely try to stay in this home next time we visit the island.

Our family thoroughly loved our stay at Liz’s vacation rental. Beautiful home with all the conveniences anyone would want. There was plenty of swim toys (snorkel gear, beach mats, boogie boards, etc.). The home has great air circulation on those hot humid days, unlike a condo that has common walls and poor ventilation.
One super amenity is the little private beach at the end of Keoniana Road. An easy walk and practically empty throughout the day. The sand is course shells and not nearly as sticky as the fine sands on other popular beaches. This beach is in my opinion the best snorkeling beach on the north shore. Another plus is that the adjoining neighbors went out of there way to make us feel welcome and share regional secrets you don’t find in the tour books. We made some new friends. If we ever come back to Kauai this is definitely where we will stay.
Aloha John and family, we are thrilled you enjoyed the house and the North Shore! It is our little piece of paradise and we love sharing it with all of our guests! Our neighbors warm welcome is the icing on the cake! We love welcoming our guests back to our home so do keep us in mind for your return trip…mahalo! Liz and Dave Kukulka

We had a great but too short stay. The house is nicely located and the outside areas are private. Kitchen is well equipped. We made many meals here. Very quiet neighborhood. We took advantage of the beach chairs and towels. Loaded them in the car trunk and left them there for the stay. While the whole house is great the master bedroom is really the best bedroom. We were traveling as two couples so it was just a bit awkward to decide about who gets the front bedroom without the bath and the master with. Not a big deal. Enjoy your stay.

We just spent a week in Kauai with this rental as our home base. We’ve rented many properties on Kauai over the years and this is a favorite. The location is convenient, the setting is lovely with a private backyard garden sitting/dining area and a great outdoor shower. The home is extremely well equipped (including beach equipment and bikes), really one of the best in all our travels. Beds are comfortable, kitchen is really large, and there is plenty of room for all to spread out…which we needed given the record breaking rain during our visit. Thanks to the family for sharing their home!
Mahalo for the great review, we strive to go above and beyond with our home and it is nice to know that we are succeeding with it! The rains and floods that happened during your stay was unprecedented and it will take some time for the North Shore to recover. Thanks you again and remember we love welcoming back past guests to their home away from home! Liz and Dave

This place was perfect for our extended family of 4 adults and 2 toddlers. The location was perfect for easy access to food shopping, beaches and other parts of the north shore. It was also very quiet. One nice feature is a big grassy open field out behind the house which was rarely used by anyone but us.
Great place for the kids to runaround and play and to star gaze at night.. The house has everything you could want. Lots of beach toys, snorkeling gear, boogie boards,, bicycles (5 I think), toys for kids, games, puzzles. There is a pack and play with a mattress and it looked like there was a stroller which we did not use. The kitchen was very well stocked with condiments and cooking utensils. Probably had ;more gadgets, containers, cooking utensils than my own kitchen. The owners get back to you right away with answers to questions and are eager to fix any problems.
Mahalo for the great review! Can’t wait to welcome your family back to our little piece of paradise! Liz and Dave

We had a great time staying at this home. It was very nice and in a nice neighborhood. They had everything you could think of. I must of missed something though, because I’m not sure how you could walk to the beach from there. It would be quite a walk. We did have to drive everywhere but that seems pretty normal for Kauai. Would definitely recommend and would love to stay here again!
Thanks for the review! Yes, you can walk to Sea Lodge beach from the house, its less than a mile but you have to hike down a path along the ocean to find the secluded beach. Probably not the best for small children and older people:( . Also Queen’s Bath is just a short bike ride away…I do have maps in our House Guide book. Now that gives you good reason to have to come back and stay with us, always something new to discover!!
